What is the difference between hypothermia and hyperthermia?
While hypothermia and hyperthermia may sound similar, they are two dramatically different conditions and require different treatment. The difference between the two is seen in their component words -- "hyypo-" means low and "hyper-" means high. Consequently, if a person has hypothermia, he or she has a dangerously low body temperature, while a person suffering from hyperthermia has an abnormally high body temperature.
